Regulator Service
Your regulator is as good as its last service!
Information
Regulator systems consist of 3 different components: the 1st stage, the 2nd stage, and the hoses that deliver gas. The 1st and 2nd stages contain static and dynamic parts, O-rings, and lubricant that allow the system to work. These parts need to be changed out on a regular basis, or serviced, to ensure proper functionality.
Our trained technicians can perform your next regulator service and return your system to the manufacturer’s specifications so you’re ready for your next dive.
Service Interval
Regulator systems should be serviced by a trained technician as frequently as the manufacturer recommends. Typically, this will be every 1-3 years.
Haven’t used your regulator since its last service, but it’s been more than your manufacturer’s recommendation?
The system will still need to be serviced before it’s used for diving. In fact, it’s actually “healthier” for the system to be used regularly rather than sit stagnant because it allows the internal components to “work out.”
Maintenance
Get the most out of each service by properly maintaining your gear in between dives. After each dive, rinse your regulator with fresh water and dry it before putting it away for storage. If you’re storing your system in a regulator bag or another container, make sure the hoses are not positioned irregularly for a prolonged time.
Bring us your regulator system once annually or before a dive trip to ensure it’s working properly. Our technicians can check the intermediate pressure (IP) between stages and make necessary adjustments to ensure your regulator is breathing as it should.
